Our instructors have had to go through rigorous training programmes to become an Advanced Driving Instructor and know only too well how the nerves kick in and make you feel uneasy. Don’t worry, they are very experienced at dealing with these emotions and they will have you feeling confident in no time. We place as much importance on confidence building and road awareness as we do on 3 point turns and emergency stops! We believe in guiding you through your lessons with the end result being a pass certificate and an assured and safe driver on our roads.
We have male and female instructors and can provide lessons in a manual or automatic car. We are flexible and will collect you from wherever is convenient and a time best for you. We will give lessons in the evenings and at weekends. We are only too aware how difficult it is fitting everything in these days so we try and make it easier for you. In order to save you time and money, our instructors will take time getting to know you and assessing the way you learn. This allows them to spend time on areas where you need more support and reduce the time spent on areas where you are more competent. We will not just “go through the motions” if there is no need to. We would rather spend the time concentrating on problem areas and getting you up to the required standard.
You may need to learn to drive quickly. If so, we offer intensive courses which involve your lessons taken condensed down into a short period of time e.g. one week. You will need to dedicate a set amount of time aside for this course but it is ideal for those who would find it a struggle finding an hour a week for 6 months for example. They are not for everyone so chat over with an instructor first. You can take the traditional regular method of learning and spread the cost if you wish but we recommend that you have at least an hour a week so that the momentum isn’t lost. For new drivers who have recently passed their test, we have the PassPlus courses. These hone your skills and provide experiences in areas you may not have encountered in your initial lessons.

All Andy1st instructors use dual-control vehicles and our instructor cars are replaced every 3 years with a brand new car, to give learners a smooth, reliable drive. In the unlikely event there are any problems with the car, it will be replaced within 24 hours making sure you don't miss any tuition or, even worse, your test.
Not only are all Andy1st instructors DSA approved, they also take a friendly patient approach to teaching you to drive. We believe the more you can relax the more you can learn. And if you enjoy your lessons, you'll build up your confidence and your driving skills more quickly.
